In 1867 The US Government traded $7.2 Mil to the Republic of Russia for the land that we now know as ALASKA. One single state with a shoreline greater than the remaining 49 states combined. The opposition referred to the transaction as Seward's Foley and even proposed new political offices such as "Secretary of Polar Bears". The great wealth of Gold, Silver, Salmon and Oil were inconceivable at that time but for me, the ultimate adventure will be to share this journey with Rod. I feel it is cosmically appropriate that Alaska and I, both celebrate our birthdays every October 18th.
